The depression in the South Bengal Sea and the North Andaman Sea is slowly turning into a cyclone. Meteorologists have named this Cyclone Yash. 

According to meteorologists, the power of this cyclone could be as strong as last year's cyclone Ampan. According to the Kolkata Meteorological Office, it may form a low pressure axis on May 22 and take the form of a cyclone on May 24 and a cyclone on the south coast of Rishya on May 26.

The Meteorological Department has said that it will start raining in different parts of the state from the 25th. On the other hand, from 23rd May onwards, strong winds of 145 kmph to 185 kmph may blow in the East South Bengal Sea and Andaman Sea. দক্ষিণ বঙ্গপুর সাগর ও উত্তর আন্দামান সাগরে অবস্থিত নিম্নচাপটি ধীরে ধীরে ঘূর্ণিঝড়ে রূপ নিচ্ছে। আবহাওয়াবিদরা এই ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের নাম দিয়েছে যশ। এই ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের ক্ষমতা সম্পর্কে আবহাওয়াবিদরা জানিয়েছে এটি গতবছরের ঘূর্ণিঝড় আমপান এর মত শক্তিশালী হতে পারে। কলকাতা আবহাওয়া অফিস জানিয়েছে এটি আগামি ২২শে মে নিম্নচাপ অক্ষরেখা তৈরি হতে পারে এবং আগামি ২৪শে মে ঘূর্ণিঝড়ে রূপ নিতে পারে এবং আগামি ২৬শে মে ঊরিষ্যা দক্ষিন উপকুলে আচড়ে পরতে পারে ঘূর্ণিঝড় যশ। আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর বলেছে আগামি ২৫ তারিখ থেকে রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় বৃষ্টি শুরু হবে। এইদিকে ২৩শে মে থেকে পূর্ব দক্ষিন বঙ্গপুর সাগর অ আন্দামান সাগরে ১৪৫ কি,মি, থেকে ১৬৫ কি,মি বেগে ঝড়োহাওয়া বয়ে যেতে পারে। তাই সকল জাহাজ ও মাছ ধরার ট্রলার কে সাগরে চলাচল করতে নিষেধ করা হয়েছে আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর থেকে। সর্বশেষ ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের অবস্থান জানতে ভিজিট করুন ঃ Live Cyclone Update
